Mary Vasquez

Born, raised, and still living in Chicago, Illinois, Mary Vasquez is a survivor of childhood sexual violence who has conquered Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and a social entrepreneur on a mission to serve trauma survivors.

Mary said, "Thank God I met William Rosado, another survivor, who helped me achieve a miraculous breakthrough. I still cannot believe I no longer suffer from PTSD nor feel traumatized by flashbacks, and I finally feel normal."

Mary's first book and passion for spirituality inspired her to launch Apprentice Butterflies Publishing, Inc., holistic spirituality books by and for trauma survivors, loved ones, and all who serve them.

A portion of all sales are donated to nonprofits serving trauma survivors. Why? Mary said, "Because one of them, the YWCA, provided counseling during a critical time in my life when I started having suicidal thoughts. One YWCA counselor saved me from my suicidal thoughts, and another helped me resurrect my spirit by encouraging me to go on a writer's retreat for women where I became inspired to write my first book. By the grace of God and with their help, I defeated the darkness, and I am forever grateful!"
