Joel I. Deichmann is a Professor of Geography in the Global Studies Department at Bentley University near Boston, USA. Joel teaches courses on Globalization, Global Regions, Contemporary Europe, and Travel and Tourism. His research focuses upon international flows of foreign direct investment and tourism, as well as international education. More than thirty of his articles have been published in academic journals across several disciplines. Joel has a passion for travel, and has visited over eighty countries on six continents, but his main region of interest remains Central and Eastern Europe. Parents of three, he and his wife Karen reside in Nashua, New Hampshire.
