Jan Pierce

After retiring from a thirty year teaching career Jan Pierce took up her pen (keyboard) and began to write. She's published in a variety of early childhood and parenting magazines, and writes for award-winning Askgranny.com, a grandparenting website. She specializes in education, parenting and family life topics. Her article, Talk, Play, Live: Build Your Child's Emotional Readiness for Life, was nominated for the 2014 Cascade Award through Oregon Christian Writers. Her book, Homegrown Readers: Simple Ways to Help Your Child Learn to Read was birthed out of her concern for parents who want to help their children learn to read, but may not know how to begin.
