Wade Smith M.D.

Wade Smith MD, FACS is an Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado and a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Colorado, School of Medicine. He has an extensive background in the care and rehabilitation of injured patients, athletic injuries and athletic training and sports nutrition. He has competed at the International and National championship levels in Ice Hockey, Short Track Speedskating, Cycling and Bodybuilding. He has served as a physician in chief for USA Speedskating and cares for severely injured athletes as part of his daily clinical practice. Dr. Smith is active in research and regularly teaches at local, national and international levels. He has published over 150 peer reviewed scientific articles and written several textbooks. He serves on the editorial boards of numerous scientific and medical journals and is a senior member of the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma. His work in assisting injured patients to regain their life and health has led him into the fields of nutrition and health, with an emphasis on lifestyle changes to improve well being and reduce susceptibility to disease.
