I hold three earned academic degrees; Associates in Arts degree in General Studies from the Community Colleges of Baltimore County, a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication from Towson University, Maryland.
I am a 27 year part time college Professor credentialed to teach specific courses in four collegiate departments: Mass Communication, Public Policy, The Fire College, Speech (Humanities), and Social Science departments.
From the technical college academic setting, I have a Florida Volunteer Firefighter Basic Certificate and a Florida Emergency Medical Technician Certificate. My national emergency services continuing education training includes many certificates in emergency management related topics from the U.S National Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, Md., as well as past training through the University of Maryland Baltimore Campus for the National Disaster Medical System (D-MAT FL-3).
I have been to over 15 countries, one US territory, and 49 states traveling for both business and for fun. I have hiked most of the Appalachian Trail, trekked through parts of the European Alps and I have camped in some of the most scenic National Parks throughout the United States. I have been on various Executive Boards for political and nonprofit organizations. Learned the hard things easily... and the easy things with great difficulty.
