Writing was a large of my business life as a roboticist and engineer building industrial equipment, both robotic and fixed automation and doing research and development in several areas including extremely hard materials and water treatment processes. Throughout, the technical writing was necessary but the idea of writing fiction was always lying in wait. As a teacher of Engineering and Physics for close to 14 years, I wrote class materials, and to the horror of my students, many , many tests, but the idea of writing about ideas in politics and its effects on people and their communities seemed a real calling. As a community activist, trying to work for ethical government in my small town of College Park GA, I have seen first hand how the lack of involvement of people can allow corruption to become a part of a community. I wrote pleadings for court cases dealing with their illegal behavior, and answers when they sued me back. I knew I wanted to tell the whole tale of their abuse of their power, but that is another story, so stay tuned. My wife and I have the distinction of being banned from speaking before the city council because of our exposure of their misconduct. Of course, simply filing a lawsuit the next day, resulted in them reversing their action at the next meeting when their attorneys reminded them of the First Amendment. As a soldier, I served in Vietnam as a SSGT in the 11th Armored Cav as a Chief of Section on a 155mm Howitzer. Injured in 1969, I came home with both legs though the issue was in doubt for a while. They say that nothing will focus a mans mind more than being shot at and missed. Now, I have the time to move ahead on those story ideas that had been rattling around for years. A fair amount of travel, including living with a two year old on a 35 ft sailboat for 7 months and over 2000 miles indicate that I am well married to a woman with more patience than I deserve. I hope you enjoy my offerings as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
