Alan Wong was born in 1977 in Nuneaton Warwickshire in the United Kingdom. He graduated from The University of the City of Birmingham in 2001 with a BA (Hons) in Accountancy and it was during his time here that he first immersed himself in Aesop’s Fables. Although as much as he wanted to be able to write a fable of his own at the time, the task proved too demanding and he therefore decided to start writing a novel in his spare time instead. Then, twelve years after he had graduated from university an old colleague of his communicated with him via social media about the relationship between her and her pet cat. What she said eventually led to his first fable “The Cat and His Owner” and for this reason is the very first story in his book, Life and Soul in Fables.
Having been fascinated with writing and story-telling for such a long time he has found that like many other people, there are things in life that he never gets to see or experience, but by writing them down he can give life to some of these thoughts. There have also been times in his life when he has experienced moments of inspiration which he wanted to share with others and feels that the best way to do that would be to express them in his stories.
