Blanca García

Blanca is passionate about learning processes that trigger collective development. She is a Development Policy Administration and Management specialist dedicated to the facilitation, creation and research of knowledge-generative environments that engage people at the city-region level. Blanca holds a Development Policy Assistant Professorship position at El Colegio de la Frontera Norte (Northern Borderlands Research College, COLEF), concentrating in knowledge-generative environments in urban contexts and borderland knowledge-cities. Blanca works under the flag of Knowledge City schemes, particularly interested in exploring the regional systems of learning and knowing in city-regions, and their impact on their development. She explores knowledge-based learning environments, repositories, networks and systems, and the social management aspects of KBD initiatives.

Blanca joined the World Capital Institute (WCI), an international Think Tank advancing knowledge-based development principles, in the capacity of Community Manager for MAKCI (Most Admired Knowledge City Awards). MAKCi contributes with Knowledge-City case studies for global benchmarking publications. Blanca has also contributed with a number of specialised publications on KBD, such as the Journal of Knowledge Management, the seminal Knowledge Cities and Knowledge-based development books, under the Elsevier-Heinemann and Interscience publishing houses.
