Matt L Brownson

Matt Brownson grew up in a small town in Montana. Since he was very young, he loved to draw and paint. He enjoyed comic books so much he created his first comic book at the age of 4 called 'Tommy the Tank'! As he got older, he had a fascination with WW2 after hearing stories from his uncle about the battle of the Bulge. After meeting his future wife, a foreign exchange student from South Africa in high school, he moved to South Africa and trained and worked as a technical Illustrator. After 4 years, he moved to Colorado and began a career as a freelance artist. A desire to return to his interest in WW2 and comic books sparked an idea of a graphic novel. The Russian front in WW2 became his focus in his interest of the war. The battle of Korsun stood out as an epic struggle that few people knew of, and the idea for the novel was born. The character in the novel, Wolfgang 'Wolf' Maiers, was started as a sketch. He currently lives in Colorado and enjoys skiing and mountain biking.
