Coffee House Writers Group

The Coffee House Writers Group started in 2009 when founder Christine Marie Bryant decided she wanted to form a community for writers. While there were several others in the area, Christine saw the need for a open critique platform that would welcome writers of all skill-levels and genres. After attending several other critique groups and doing extensive research on what would be the most helpful to writers, she started CHWG as a Meetup group on December 31, 2009.

Our mission is to support writers, both through education and by creating a supportive community of peers. Membership in CHWG is always free and we never charge for meetings or workshops. We rely on donations and the support of sponsors to handle all administrative costs.

The group almost immediately started seeing success, and soon it had grown to have two regular meeting times a week. We launched a Facebook fan page and a private Facebook group for active members. In early 2012, a committee was formed to take the group to the next level. We started monthly workshops on topics that interest our members and partnered with various organizations like the Ontario public Library and San Dimas Senior Center to provide outreach to the local community.
