Claude Fabre

Claude Fabre is Emeritus Professor in Physics at Sorbonne University in Paris.

He has made pioneering contributions, both in theory and experiment, in the field of Quantum Optics, concerning the manipulation of the quantum fluctuations, quantum correlations and entanglement in the electromagnetic field. He is in particular interested in the quantum fluctuations in optical images and light pulses,.

More generally, he has made significant advances in the domain of quantum information processing, quantum communications, quantum parameter estimation, and in the determination of ultimate quantum limits in the measurement of parameters by optical means.

He is a fellow of the Optical Society of America (now Optica), and an honorary member of the Institut Universitaire de France. He was awarded in 2018 the Grand Prix Leon Brillouin. He co-authored the successful textbook "Introduction to Quantum Optics" (2010) with Gilbert Grynberg and Alain Aspect.
