R. Jay Carissimo

Ray Carissimo received his BA in Communications & Theater from Kean University and his Masters in History from Montclair University. His first story was read to his fourth grade class at Yantacaw School.

He continued writing and was published in several small press magazines and had a play produced. While working on his master's thesis-- the role of organized crime in urban culture-- he had an idea: organized crime's role in a fantasy world.

What if there was a crime syndicate in such a world? How would it operate? Who would make up its membership? How would it keep itself concealed from the legitimate world of kings, knights and magic wielders? What would happen if a street war broke out?

That's how "Thieves of the Vormonde" was created.

"Thieves of the Vormonde" is R. Jay Carissimo's first novel; he also has finished a YA Adult Fantasy book, titled Two Familiar. Two Familiar asks the question: What would happen if a wizard had two familiars? Would it be twice as much magic or double trouble?
