Julie Doherty

Julie Doherty expected to follow in her artist-father’s footsteps, but words, not oils, became her medium. She writes lean, emotionally charged fiction shaped by faith, survival, and the quiet choices that define who we become. Her stories blend atmospheric tension with philosophical depth, exploring how ordinary people navigate extraordinary pressure—both in the world around them and within their own hearts.

Her motto, “Walking Barefoot through Broken Places,” grew out of her own season of loss and the conviction that grace meets us in the darkest valleys of our lives.

When not writing, Julie can be found practicing bushcraft skills, gardening, preserving the harvest, or tossing ball for Penny, her rescued Labrador retriever mix.
