Arie Van der Ende

Arie Van der Ende biography:

I was born in Holland in 1930 at the start of the Great Depression. I was there when Germany invaded the country and lived through five brutal years of German occupation. But I also rejoiced in the liberation by the Allies at war's end.

After the war, I was chosen to be one of the first NATO pilots to train in Ontario, Canada, where I experienced many unique adventures.

When honourably discharged from the Air Force, I pursued a business career, becoming a Director and CFO of a large packaging company. I have degrees in Agriculture, Accounting and Business Administration.

Later, my wife and I started a successful bed and breakfast operation, drawing guests from all over the country and as far away as Tasmania and Russia. I became an art teacher and opened an art gallery, wrote music and lyrics and performed on the stage at our local community theatre.

I travelled extensively to countries in North, South and Central America, as well as Central Europe and all the countries around the Mediterranean Sea. That included visits to North Africa, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, Greece and Spain. I've seen castles on the Rhine, tasted fish and chips in Britain, bratwurst in Austria and pizza in Italy.

And I write stories, some drawn from my many life experiences. They are available on Amazon. Enter 'Arie Van der Ende' in the search box to see all the ones published so far.
