John Daniel Thieme is the author of two collections of poetry--the ghost dancers (2014) and the forthcoming paulinskill hours and other poems (2015). He contributed an introduction and notes to a recent edition of John Donne's Holy Sonnets (2014). As a scholar, Thieme's research spans poetry, literary criticism, linguistics, history, theology, and folklore--with a keen interest on the intersection of faith, folklore, and art in narratives of pilgrimage and martyrdom, and in depictions of evil and death.
