Dr. Angela Velez-Solic is the Associate Director for the Center for Innovation and Scholarship in Teaching and Learning at Indiana University Northwest. She also serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Education. She has been teaching at the college level since 1998, mostly courses in English, Humanities, and Communication. She began teaching online in 2005 and quickly became immersed in the teaching environment and fascinated with preparing faculty to teach online and supporting faculty teaching from a distance.
In 2007 she made a career move into faculty development, support, and training and in 2009 added administrative duties to her repertoire. She enjoys helping transform hesitant faculty and campuses that are “late to the online game”. She is also an expert faculty trainer, a skilled instructional designer, and master online teacher. As of early 2015, she has trained upwards of 700 faculty members around the world to teach online!
Besides her academic and professional work she enjoys spending time with her 4 children, 3 stepchildren, and husband in Northwest Indiana while dreaming about living in the mountains of Southwest Virginia (one day).
