Elizabeth Wissinger

Elizabeth Wissinger is a Professor at the City University of New York. She is faculty in Fashion Studies in the Masters of Arts in Liberal Studies program at the Graduate Center, and in Sociology at BMCC. Her book, This Year's Model: Fashion, Media, and the Making of Glamour (NYU Press, 2015) examines how changing media technologies affect embodiment, from the portrait studio to the selfie. Wissinger is currently investigating wearable technology's impact on the self, body, and social relations. She lives in Manhattan with her husband and daughter.
