Sadegh Shajari is an Iranian-French scientist. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), where he first started working for in 1976, was at its peak only two years after its initial creation in 1974. Many factors then ultimately led to the collapse of the Monarchy in Iran and came Iran's revolution. The effects of the unfolding events were felt severely at the AEOI and some departments collapsed. While almost all of AEOI scientists left Iran, Shajari shifted focus on water problem, since in the roots of the Islamic Revolution, he saw the footprint of chronic water shortage. For his research work, Sadegh Shajari was awarded France's most prestigious academic degree, the High Honor State Doctorate. At that time, the Iran-Iraq War was still raging, and rural or urban development projects were almost forgotten. Shajari family decided to leave their homeland. No sooner had they arrived to Canada than AEOI authorities asked Shajari to return to Iran. Thereafter, he became heavily involved in Iran's nuclear activities. For Sadegh Shajari, the revolution was a change of referential; he decided to remain with his own referential. Now he lives in Paris.
