Dan Yarnell

My life's journey has been about leading, encouraging and facilitating women and men into fulfilling their dreams and calling as followers of Jesus. Even though I did not grow up in a church environment, I was always seeking and exploring some kind of spiritual direction. After coming to an intentional decision to follow Jesus in my late teens, I have been passionate about mission which has lead me to be involved in a variety of churches and church plants, often pioneering new expressions of missional communities along with my wife Amy. These include working on a working class housing estate, working with adults with learning difficulties, youth work, and more recently with multi-cultural and multi-ethnic communities. As the national co-ordinator for the Fellowship of Churches of Christ in Great Britain and Ireland, I am seeking to learn from the variety of ethnic expressions of Christian community which make up our network.

I have equally been involved in theological and practical education, having taught in various colleges throughout the UK, and currently I am a senior lecturer in missional theology at ForMission College (formerly Springdale College). I have additionally had the privilege of working as a specialist trainer for smaller churches, seeking to affirm as well as develop their ministry in various denominations in the UK and other parts of the world. I love engaging with others, hearing about their journeys, and seeking to relate to their cultures. I also enjoy the arts and am an active folk singer and musician.
