I am the author of illustrated history books on each of the two theme parks designed, built, and opened by the Marriott Corporation as Marriott's Great America. My first title is California's Great America (Images of Modern America) which covers the history of the first Marriott's Great America park when it opened in March of 1976 in Santa Clara, California. My second book is titled Six Flags Great America (Images of Modern America). This companion to the first book covers the history of the second Marriott's Great America park which opened in May of 1976 in Gurnee, Illinois.
