Emmanuel Dufour

Born on July 7, 1970, Emmanuel Dufour spent his youth between France and several countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. After studying science, he worked for eight years as a computer technician in Paris, then eleven years as a plumber in Corrèze, before settling in Dordogne in 2023 to devote himself entirely to writing.

Writing since his teens, he published his first science fiction novel, Rendez-vous, in 2015. This was followed in 2020 by Rendez-vous manqué, and in 2022 by Dernier rendez-vous, forming with the first the Chroniques Sélènes trilogy. In 2020, he also published Ogres, a technological and philosophical thriller, and Excideuil, a medieval-fantasy fairy tale. In 2023, he compiles and publishes Sylphide, a collection of 12 short stories exploring a range of universes from thrillers to surrealist tales. In 2024, he published Bons baisers du bison, a Corrèze thriller with an offbeat sense of humor.

In 2015, 2021, 2022 and 2023, he was selected by the reading committee of the Brive Book Fair and took part. In 2022 and 2024, he won the short story competition at the Salon du Livre de Naves with his short stories Avant l'averse and Le Joyau (Coup de cœur du jury in 2024). In 2023, he won the Prix littéraire Saint-Mexantois for his novel Ogres.

His stories are inspired by societal, ethical, spiritual and philosophical questions. A former believer, he is now an atheist, skeptic, moral philosopher and vegan.
