Bob Burdekin

Bob Burdekin grew up in the mid-western United States where his family raised Arabian horses; his first structured riding lessons began at the age of three to learn forward seat. Bob has devoted his life to the horse industry and in his 50 year career he evolved from a simple horse lover, to a showman, a breeder, a trainer, a farrier, and finally to a horseman. To be able to properly understand the label of being a horseman you need to realize that they have to be a compassionate person, as well as someone that is willing to respect the animal by communicating with them on their own terms, doing so allows that person to be accepted into the equine social structure.

Many people involved with horses today have a hard time accepting that real horsemanship is a process. We live in a society that wants everything "now" .... instant gratification; we must remember that we live in that world, the horse does not.

Bob Burdekin's career has given him extensive experience working with all facets of the horse industry, both on the ground and on their back. The ability to share the knowledge gained is one of Bob's greatest assets and he is always willing to share what he has learned and to be able to enrich the relationship between horse and owner.

Bob has had the distinct pleasure to meet, learn from, and allowed into the lives of thousands of horses; that acceptance gave him the insight that was necessary for the understanding of their world and that he needed to alter his thoughts and actions to become the same as theirs. Those horses started as his clients, became his friends, then his teachers, and finally his mentors. Bob Burdekin holds that portion of his life to be one of the greatest blessings that he ever received.
