Clare Collins

Clare Collins is an artist, writer, poet and author. Born in Adelaide South Australia to British born parents in 1951. Ever since her father taught her to hold a pencil when she was three she has been drawing. Writing came next then poems. They came back to Britain travelling through 1956-1957. She went to Chelmsford County High School for Girls 1961-1966 where these subjects were her forte. She went on from school to gain a Certificate in Speech and Drama 1966-67. Following that she went to teacher training school gaining a Cert Ed to train to be a Primary School teacher. Her main subject was Art, the subsidiary being Philosophy. This was in the years 1973-75. Several years later she studied Education, Humanities and The History of Art and was awarded a B.A. 1979-1982. She had a short career in teaching reaching the status of Acting Deputy Head before retiring in 1998 through illness The poetry books published by Amazon span many years from pre 1967-2013. Clare has won commendations and special awards in several competitions and her paintings have been exhibited in solo exhibitions as well as in mixed exhibitions. One painting won the Friends of The Beecroft Art Gallery Prize. Drawing, dreaming up and producing my own colouring book seems like a natural progression. Especially as its suitable for adults and children.

I managed to draw and create the colouring book Woodland Faeries after becoming seriously ill with an Autoimmune Disease which is due to a gene or two. This illness took five years to diagnose in 2017. In 2018 I then had a saddle embolism that also nearly killed me.

A short while after that I decided it was time to write my memoirs. Having started an autobiography in a traditional way I decided to write it as a conscious stream of thoughts. I had many pieces of paper with scribbled thoughts, quotes and happenings on them. You could say on the back of envelopes. The Strangeness of Life by She: Clare Collins although picked from here and there, I believe it makes eminent sense.
