David J. Price

David J Price: I was born in Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. I gained IQA qualifications and worked as a Quality Assurance Manager before retiring in 2013. I also qualified at HNC in Computing and I enjoy creating digital artwork. I wrote a short story in 1998 and realized I enjoyed creative writing, this led to entering writing competitions, where I gained special merit from the Writers Guild for a children's story I submitted. In 2013 I published that story with New Generation Publishing, together with a bonus story and some photos about a prestigious Art & Industrial Exhibition held in 1902 in my home town. The collected

short stories were essentially in the science-fiction/fantasy genre aimed at children and young adults. I have continued my interest in creative writing with the self-publication of my first novel in 2014 'An Alien Legacy: the Cygnus and Pictor connection', aimed at adult science fiction fans. I currently live in Sedgley, near Dudley, England.

In June 2016 I published my third book (second novel), again a science fiction genre story titled 'Worlds of the Parallel Universe', this being a sequel to 'Alien Legacy' as I felt the injustice of the lost starship's crew and the sacrifice made in contributing their alien DNA to the homo-sapien gene pool had affected the evolution of modern humans on Earth in that first story that had not been fully appreciated. Reviews from my readers agreed a sequel was needed. Both novels are still available in hardcover, paperback, and e-book formats (available from Author House). My first book is still in print, available from Booklocker.com in Florida USA

In May 2018 I published my fourth novel 'The Galactic Protectorate' which was a new direction in publishing for me, using Kindle Direct Publishing. My fifth book was in the form of a novella, published 10th May 2019, it was titled 'The Mystical Domain of Albion - A YA Fantasy' The book is now available in ebook and paperback formats. This book returned to my roots and is a Knights of the Round Table type story with dragons, demons, hybrid creatures, werewolves and fairies, elves, and battling Knights-of course! It pulls on emotional strings, creates sympathy for the protagonist, has humour, comic elements, and a touch of romance within an entertaining story. My sixth book was published on 23rd January 2020 and was titled 'Viking Attack at the Battle of Tettenhall' this was Book 2 in the series the 'Mystical Domain of Albion' (a sequel using the same characters who have moved on and are now in a 10th Century version of Earth and can now travel through a portal on their own land in the 21st century to travel across dimensions. My eight book - (my first book was reformatted twice and published first with New Generation Publishing and then with Booklocker.com - hence the recount!) was published on 17th June 2020, it was a collection of 7 science fiction stories titled 'New Worlds of Science Fiction' (a collection of short imaginative SF stories) covering many different themes), again published with Kindle Direct. My 9th book was published 14/2/2021 titled 'A Collection of Short Stories in the Science Fiction Genre (Volume 2)', it contains one of my favourite stories 'Time Repair'. I continue to promote all my publications through askdavid.com using my name above to search.

On 25th November 2021 I published my 10th book titled 'A Time Before the Earth Had a Moon'. This had been written under difficult circumstances after suffering a mini stroke after receiving the Astra Zeneca vaccination (first jab). I found that I could not spell and had memory lapses but found that I could still write without any help from anybody and so I finished this novel and it was an enjoyable story. Even now, my ability to spell is atrocious but I still possess the skill of writing stories. My wife, Pamela, has always helped me in proof reading, we use a traffic light system where I give the text a proof read, she follows me in checking punctuation and we work together in doing final spell checks and ensuring no spelling deviations. At 73 I don't know whether it is possible to continue this, I would rely on feedback from my audience and fan base to let me know how to proceed.
