Brett Hoffstadt (1970 - ) is a dual-degree aerospace engineer with certifications in project management and public speaking, licenses in sUAS remote piloting and insurance sales, an inventor with two patents, author and/or publisher of four books, entrepreneur, and music composer with one album released.
His love of flight, individual freedom, and human achievement motivated him as an undergraduate at Purdue University to join the school’s hang gliding club. He literally soared with the birds, wingtip to wingtip, in a thermal together. But a future flight nearly cost him his life with a forced landing in a tree, from which he fell approximately 60 feet. After waking from the resulting coma, Brett had to learn how to walk and talk again like a “normal” adult. Then he resumed his goal of becoming an aerospace engineer.
Brett lives in Folsom, California with his wife, daughter, son, and an undisclosed number of pets. When not spending time with family or helping other professionals succeed with their innovative and entrepreneurial efforts, he likes to volunteer with professional societies and encourage younger people who might join them later.
