BRIANNE DONALDSON explores how implicit foundational beliefs inform social inclusion and ethical action toward plants, animals, and marginalized people. She works at the intersection Indian (especially Jain) and western metaphysics within comparative bioethics, religion and science, and animal/environmental studies in relation to global agriculture. She has held research or teaching positions at Rice University (Texas), Monmouth College (Illinois), Claremont School of Theology (California) and was previously Outreach Coordinator in Southern California for Vegan Outreach. She currently holds the Shri Parshvanath Presidential Chair in Jain Studies at University of California, Irvine.
