Robert Anthony Aiello

Robert Anthony Aiello completed his adult fiction novel Tommy's Choice at age 82 despite the handicap of Macular Degeneration. His novel follows the career of Tommy Bilotti, his key character from the late 1940's into the world of baseball, gambling ,loan sharking and politics all which had an effect on the young athlete who was addicted to gambling. Tommy's addiction as Robert pointed out led him to Frankie Pellegrino jr. a gangster, the head of one of the five families in New York. Pellegrino became a threat to Tommy, his career and his family which placed him in a position where he had to make a life or death decision...a choice.

Your author Robert Anthony Aiello quit high school at age 17 to sign a contract with the Cleveland Indians. He served in the U.s Army where he played on the same team as Willie Mays, He returned to baseball in 1954 as a team mate of Roger Maris,but he had to retire in 1955 due to injuries.He worked various jobs while attending night school. He received his high school diploma at age 29 then attended Rutgers night school before he joined the West New York, N.J Fire Department in 1960 and eventually earned a degree in Fire Science. When he had the time in his early years on the Department he had a part time job as a junketeer to the old Tropicana hotel in las Vegas. Eventually he rose to the rank of Chief of the Department retiring in 1995.

He still has sight and is contemplating writing another novel...Tommy's Choice at Amazon in paper back and E books and Barnes & Nobel...The Nook.
