Steve Heronemus

Going from an active consultant, amateur musician, and soccer coach to living in a wheelchair, "eating" through a tube into the stomach, and speaking through an eye gaze computer may seem to some a tragic life. I dare to say that living with ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease), while intensely difficult, has led me to a rediscovery of the joy, grace, and beauty of life.

Some people describe ALS as being trapped inside a shell of a body. I contend that as we live for God, in thanks for life in whatever form that may take, and live for others, there is nothing that can entrap us.

I am a husband of 30+ years, proud father of four, advocate for the disabled, and active church and community volunteer. I'd love to connect with you at www.steveheronemus.com and www.facebook.com/shellsbook
