Charlie Cottrell

Charlie Cottrell is a high school history teacher who got tired of waiting for the stories he wanted to read to be written by someone else and just started writing them himself. Inspired by the works of Dashiell Hammet, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, and Ellery Queen, he finds himself fascinated by the hard-boiled detective genre and its tradition of boozy, wise-ass protagonists. He writes the Hazzard Pay series, a series of novels and short stories about Eddie Hazzard, a down-on-his-luck private eye trying to clean up the streets of Arcadia and keep himself in booze money. The first book in the series, The Invisible Crown, came out in December 2016, and more novels are soon to follow. You can follow his writer's blog at www.charliecottrell.com. Charlie also writes songs, poems, and comics, the latter of which can be found at his daily webcomic site (http://www.xeyeti.com). You can also follow him on twitter @XEYeti. He finds writing in the third person rather off-putting, but this is how things are done.
