Phyllis Chandler Grey

Phyllis Chandler Grey is an American author, photographer, educator, counselor, and lecturer. She is known for her travel and historical travel books. As an educator, she also writes non-fiction books for children. She writes of what she knows well. Anna Maria Island, Florida and Historic Route 66 have been her favorite subjects to share. Added to this, she loves short stories and has a collection called Stories I Lived to Tell.

Her most recent of nine books is Route 66: One Hundred Years and Beyond. In honor the the Centennial, she has given an extensive list, state by state, and town by town, of the attractions and curiosities the traveler may see today. The book includes history, a few short stories about Route 66 personalities, and even a futuristic story.

Phyllis hold's a master's degree from the University of Missouri and has a wide range of experience in travel, education, and entrepreneurship. She is from Missouri but lived on Anna Maria Island for many years. She currently resides north of Houston, Texas with her family.
