Rory O'Brien

Rory O'Brien grew up in New England, surrounded by books, history, and the long shadows of Poe, Hawthorne, and Lovecraft.

Gallows Hill,a police procedural set in modern Salem, was his first novel. He followed it up with Summerland, a historical thriller set in Gilded Age Newport. He returned to Salem for his third novel, The Afflicted Girl. Senor Lugosi and Other Stories a collection of short fiction, soon followed.

He lives in Salem with his patient, long-suffering wife, their Treeing Walker Coonhounds, and a pair of black cats.
