Tony Ferri

Tony Ferri is a philosopher and criminologist, doctor of philosophy (PhD), associate researcher at the GERPHAU laboratory (Study and Research Group Philosophy - Architecture - Urban) and at the C3RD (Research Center on the Relationship between Risks and Law), specialist in the prison world and domiciliary detention under electronic surveillance, lecturer at the Catholic University of Lille, speaker at the National School of Judicial Protection of Youth, and prison counselor for integration and probation within the Ministry of Justice.

He is the author of several books and articles on the penal system, penology, the meaning and functions of sentences, penitentiary services for integration and probation, prisons, services for the application of sentences, the figure of judges for the application of sentences, electronic monitoring, the status and practice of criminology.

His studies and analyzes are part of critical criminology, and aim to restructure penal thought. At the crossroads of the theory and practice of penal sanctions, at the crossroads of research and field experience concerning the support of persons convicted by the probation system, he develops a new concept of the sentence.

Born in 1973, he is also a graduate of the French Chess Federation and creator-publisher of card magic (card tricks).
