Veronica Dale

Veronica Dale writes genre-bridging fiction that includes dark fantasy, suspense, tender romance, psychological thriller, and the spiritual journey. She is the author of the four-volume Coin of Rulve Series, consisting of Blood Seed, Dark Twin, Time Candle, and Leaf and Flame. She has also written Night Cruiser: Short Stories about Creepy, Amusing or Spiritual Encounters with the Shadow.

"My books at times may be dark," she says, "but there's always a powerful and salvific light at the end of the tunnel." Her work has consistently received five stars from the Midwest Book Review and the silver seal award from Reader's Favorite Book Review. Commendations have also come from fantasy authors Debra Doyle, PhD. and Sherwood Smith, as well as from Writer's Digest and Writers of the Future. Vernie has a background in pastoral ministry and is a member of Detroit Working Writers and the Alliance of Independent Authors. Holding two master's degrees, she is also a graduate of the Viable Paradise Science Fiction and Fantasy workshop and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Vernie says her inspiration comes from The Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien, as well as from the work of theologians like Elizabeth A. Johnson and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. "I love dark chocolate," she admits, "and am a real fan of what you might call the Holmes-Data-Spock archetype." One of her favorite memories is of the time she actually touched a grey whale calf off the coast of Baja California.
