Alexandra Boylan always pursues her goals without a parachute. From the moment the lights went up on the stage of her high school auditorium, she knew where she belonged—center stage. At the age of nineteen, she packed her bags and moved to Los Angeles.

For a decade she paid her dues. Honed her craft with acclaimed acting instructor Harry Mastrogeorge. Built a solid resume of independent films, short subjects, and music videos. The elusive big break seemed just out of reach. Frustrated sitting around waiting for the phone to ring, she decided to take back control. Utilizing the skills obtained on dozens of movie sets and harnessing the passion that fueled her to leave New England for the gold coast in the first place, she formed her own production company. The company’s first production, The House of Yes, had a sold out run at the Artworks Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

Drawn by the incentives package the New Mexico government offered production companies, she packed her bags, and fled the traffic and grind of Los Angeles for the desert of Albuquerque. There she gathered a team of hard working, energetic filmmakers. Beginning small, she produced the TV series Flock and several shorts. Albuquerque’s burgeoning film community took notice. After a successful crowd-source funding campaign, she and her team began production on Home Sweet Home. Image Entertainment scooped-up the rights and the film was distributed across US, European, and Asian markets.

With a major feature film under her belt, she returned to California. Back home, she devised a revolutionary new concept. Your Pizza Adventure became one of the first live-action, movie adventure apps for iPhone.

Joining forces with the creator of Ms in the Biz website, they turned these blogs into a book—offering a new generation of industry females insightful commentary on the film business. “Thriving in Hollywood, Tenacious tales and tactics from Ms. In the Biz, is available on Amazon.

She is also Outreach Coordinator for Ms. In The Biz. As a spokesperson for Ms. In The Biz she connects the company with the larger community by creating awareness and developing key relationships between individuals and Ms. In The Biz.

Today she is an active member of Women in Film, Los Angeles

Her second feature film, Catching Faith, is currently in post-production.
