Petra Tornack-Zimmermann

Petra Tornack-Zimmermann is the author of the German Tunisian crochet series "TUNESISCH Häkeln", as well as many other patterns and leaflets for crochet and tatting. Her work appears in both German and English.

Growing up, Petra discovered her love for fiber arts at an early age. She experimented every variety she could, from knitting and crochet to tatting, embroidery, and bobbin lace. There is no technique that she’s tried that she hasn’t absolutely loved. She has a true passion for the art of crafting something beautiful from yarn, hooks and needles.

Petra is a trained biologist, and she is inspired in her crafting by natural forms and the beauty of the outside world. Above all, she enjoys creating her own designs and patterns. Petra is dedicated to making her patterns as easy to understand as possible, providing clear instructions, as well as many helpful illustrations and photographs.

Thanks to digital publishing, Petra is getting to live her dream by being able to share her designs with the rest of the world. She is incredibly thankful for the success she’s had as a self-published author, particularly with her Tunisian crochet series. She loves that her work is available to people around the world, and she hopes to share her love of fiber crafting with others.

Petra lives with her family in the sunny south of Germany, between Heidelberg and the Black Forest. When she isn’t working on patterns or other creations, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
