My journey to becoming a food and health writer began in 2012 following the shock death of my youngest brother, Ben, from type 1 diabetes, an incurable autoimmune condition. He had been robbed of his health, so I decided it was time I started looking after mine. I spent the next few years experimenting in the kitchen, trying to find healthy foods I loved to eat, and quickly, I learned the power of the food we eat to heal and sustain.
My first book, The Midlife Kitchen, was the culmination of everything I learned in those years. Co-written with award-winning writer Mimi Spencer, it went on to be a Sunday Times bestseller. My next book, The Midlife Method, has also helped thousands of midlifers manage their weight healthily and sustainably. My most recent book, Supercharge Your Diet, was written to give people back control over their nutrition and health.
Apart from books, I write freelance for many publications. Notably, I am the nutrition expert at The Daily Telegraph, with a focus on making good nutrition accessible to all. I am a member of The Guild of Food Writers and a graduate of The Leiths Nutrition in Culinary Practice certificate, the best training of its kind in the UK, focusing on translating nutritional theory into delicious food. I live in Bath, and currently, I'm pursuing an MSc in Clinical Nutrition.
