Robert Andrew Dunn

Dr. Robert Andrew Dunn is a professor at East Tennessee State University and serves as chair of the Department of Media and Communication. He teaches classes in media theory, multimedia production, media and society, media law and ethics, and reporting. His research focuses on media psychology, media fandom, identity, and communication technology.

Academically, Dunn holds a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Alabama, a master’s degree in communication from Florida State University, and a bachelor’s degree in communication from Auburn University Montgomery.

Professionally, Dunn worked in newspapers for nearly a decade. He primarily served as an education reporter and occasional legislative reporter for both the Tallahasee Democrat and The Ledger in Florida. He has also served an instructor for Florida Southern College and the University of Alabama.
