Sieglinde De Francesca (Sigi) has always sought to awaken a sense of wonderment through her work of more than 40 years as an artist, teacher, consultant, storyteller, and more recently, an author.
After a life in the theater as a teacher/trainer (she taught Oscar winner Melissa Leo), she returned to school to receive a graduate degree in Waldorf education and taught for many years in Waldorf schools in the United States and Italy.
Her first writings came out of her work as a teacher and artist. She then was inspired to write a book for families to share with their children, the delightful ‘A Donsy of Gnomes: seven gentle gnome stories.’
Now she offers the enchanting chapter book series, The Tales of Limindoor Woods. There are 5 books in the series. Book 1: The Way of Gnome, Book 2: Gnomes & Friends, Book 3: The Gnomes' Rosette, Book 4: Nine Gnome Nights, and Book 5: A Gnome-in-Training.
And, as the gnomes continue to whisper to her, Sigi now has three more gnome chapter books out... each has some connection with Limindoor Woods in some way. There is the life story of beloved, Mother Comfrey. There is a collection of gnome dream stories called, The Seven Sleeps. And there is the first of a new, limited series called, A Mouse & His Gnome: The Quest for the Silver Spring. (A sequel to that book should be coming out soon!)
Some time ago a muse from Ireland, the land of her ancestors, moved her to write ‘The Guilds of Tir Na nÓg; a Collection of Celtic Dream Tales.’
Sieglinde currently lives Northern California with her husband and cats.
