Gary Michael Hassig

Gary Michael Hassig is a third-generation Colorado native who grew up in a rural area north of Denver. He majored in Writing and received a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Colorado at Denver. He often incorporates his love of spirituality, hiking and nature into his writing. Since 2002, he has been involved in contemplative prayer, which he has found to be a powerful transformative tool for Christian growth. He has written about contemplative spirituality in his book, "Contemplation: Only the Crucified are Truly Alive," and continues to do so in his blogs. Gary has several future book projects planned. He is also a percussionist, guitarist and songwriter, teaches drums and percussion, and enjoys many styles of music. He lives in Colorado Springs with his wife.
