Peter Thomson

Peter Thomson is a leading consultant, speaker and researcher in the field of new working practices. He is a director of Wisework Ltd, specialist advisors on flexible working and was Director of the Future Work Forum at Henley Business School for 16 years. Prior to this he was HR Director for Digital Equipment for Northern Europe.

He is a Director of the Future Work Forum (http://www.futureworkforum.com), running their regular 'think tank' sessions. He is a regular speaker at conferences on the future of work.

Peter's latest book published in May 2021 is "Never Going Back: how Covid-19 changed work for good" written in conjunction with Mark Thomas. They argue strongly that the way we work will never be the same after the disruption of the pandemic. His previous book published in 2020 is "500%: how two pioneers transformed productivity", written in conjunction with the two directors of Matt Black Systems, a company that has introduced an amazing self-leadership system.

In 2011 he teamed up with Alison Maitland to write "Future Work", published by Palgrave Macmillan. It sold well so the publishers asked for an updated version which was published in 2014.

Since then Peter has been the chief editor for "Conquering Digital Overload", a book collecting together the views of 16 members of the Future Work Forum. He is also a co-author of "Introducing your invisible manager" the first in a series about self-management.

Peter is one of the ten authors of "The Future of Work: Practical People Strategies for Business Leaders" which is the product of a 'Book in a Day' workshop run by the CIPD. His contribution concentrated on productivity as a topic.
