Jeffrey Gorsky worked as Senior Counsel with the international immigration firm Berry, Appleman, and Leiden (BAL). He worked for 35 years as a lawyer and diplomat at the U.S. Department of State. He is a nationally recognized expert in immigration law, a former U.S. vice-consul in Bilbao, Spain, and a former Iberian intelligence analyst. He received the President's Award from the International Outlaw Motorcycle Gang Investigators Association, two Department of State Superior Honor Awards, and won on Jeopardy. He was stationed as a consular officer in Medellin and Bogota, Colombia, as well as Bilbao, and also had two months of temporary duty in Cuba. Before entering the State Department, he worked for two years as a court appointed criminal defense attorney. He lives in Arlington, Va. and has a wife and two daughters.
