Hartmut Emrich was born in 1961 in the rather poor low mountain range of the Osthessian Vogelberg and grew up in the tranquility of the idyllic village in the 1960s / 1970s until he significantly broadened his horizons with training and studies at the end of the 1970s and early 1980s.
Since 1998 the author has lived with his wife on the heights of the Hunsrück on the left bank of the Rhine. This landscape, in which Celtic-Gallic peoples settled long before the Romans and Teutons, and left their traces, was the trigger for the idea of the first stories, which took shape during a sabatical at the beginning of 2014.
The five books of 'Marcus Weg' describe the story of a former soldier, whose ancestors came from Latium and have mixed with the Gallic or Celtic families in the Eifel and Hunsrück for seven generations. After leaving the service with the legions, that Marcus tries to give his life a new meaning and to find his way in a world that is not always easy for him to understand.
The first four books were written within a few weeks and form the basis for the extensive series of books on the 'Die Kriegerinnen' (amazon warriors) that followed.

The books are based in part on actual events, which form the framework for the plot and which occasionally offer the author the opportunity to provide his own justification for developments that sometimes pose a mystery to historians.
The author continues the good old tradition of the early medieval chroniclers, who were often less precise with the actual events and were more concerned with idealized interpretations on behalf of the clergy or rulers.
Should a hiker in the vineyards of the Bopparder Hamm or the hiking trails above the left bank of the Rhine encounter a rider without a saddle and sometimes without reins, or a man who is accompanied by a horse on foot, it is definitely the one Author of the books: Der Marcus Weg I-IV 'and' Die Kriegerinnen I-IV '' Hamilkar's Journey to the Edge of the World 'and' 1 + 2 = 12 '.
With 1 + 2 = 12 we get into the present and the near future and maybe one day there will be a project that accompanies the path of a generation ship on an uncertain journey into an even more uncertain future, but before the science fiction project is implemented, there are still book projects to be published, such as various crime novels ...
