Cathy Herbert

Cathy's most recent book, "What My Horse Teaches Me," features insights from horse enthusiasts through essays about the horse-human bond.

In 2015, Her article "Old Gold" was featured in the January 2015 issue of "Horse & Rider." An article about older riders getting started showing or returning to horse showing is forthcoming in July in "The Paint Horse Journal."

In 2014, her short stories and essays were published in "The Delmarva Review," "The Kelsey Review," "The Lascaux Review," "Verse," "Meat for Tea," and other literary journals. She is also a blogger on LinkedIn.

Previously, she served as editor for such publications as "Practical Horseman," "Performance Horseman," "Horse & Rider," "The Reiner," "Horse Show," and "Riding Instructor." She has contributed to "Western Horseman," "Town & Country," and Neiman Marcus' "The Book." Her writing has appeared in "The New York Times."

Under the name Cathy Raymond, she contributed to books that include "Disease-Free at 60+" and "The Doctor's Guide to Home Remedies to Dogs and Cats," both published by Rodale Press.

She owns Cherbert Editorial, which specializes in developing grants and implementing programs for medical societies and other entities.

She breeds, owns, and shows reining horses on the East Coast and Midwest.
