Christie C. Yerby, nicknamed 'Curious George', almost became a hospital 'victim'...needlessly. Her curiosity and motivation to find 'another way' other than surgery and pills for correcting her health concern proved to be both a positive experience and an expensive one, as it sent her into naturopathic medical school to find the truth, the answers, the choices...the health without the hospitals.
Four years later (without the surgery), she emerged a licensed doctor of naturopathic medicine, exhausted, but ready to light a path for those who were lost in their efforts to find a way out of their own ill health, but did not know how to begin.
An invitation from a medical doctor to join his practice in North Carolina was offered. She knew this would be a challenge, knowing that natural science therapies were not at all accepted there yet as science-based medical choices.
She took the challenge and began lighting one candle at a time. She created the 'Healing Power of Nature' column in the local newspaper to begin the arduous educational process - hoping to reach those who were also looking for her and the message she carried. The journey to change 'healthcare' to 'health caring' had begun.
Her book, 'Health Without Hospitals', is a collection of those short, informative, yet inspirational published articles that helped so many people make positive changes in their lives. There is nothing 'new age' or 'earthworm-eating' about them....just basic, common sense steps to take easily and immediately - from the words of someone who has been there, gone back to the well for the answers, and reappeared with them.
The information is basic in nature, yet loaded with a powerful ability to expand.
