Alison loves to travel, having spent her early years in Jamaica, USA, Gibraltar and Scotland. She’s ridden a camel, fed elephants, cuddled snakes and patted a hippo. She attributes her wildlife fearlessness to having four children.
A poly-role (doctor, mother, radio voice performer, Co-Regional advisor for SCBWI British Isles) she sometimes gets her priorities muddled (except for banana-bread chef; that’s always right up there).
Chris Awdry, author of Thomas the Tank Engine series, wrote of The Serpent of Eridor, (book 1) ‘a page-turning adventure. Dialogue and action crackle along…’ Alchemy won a SCBWI first words competition and was described as ‘a superb slice of teen fantasy’ by Books Monthly, and ‘A fast-paced and exciting magical adventure. A Red Ribbon Winner and highly recommended’ by The Wishing Shelf Book Awards.
