Darren Bane

Darren Bane was born at a very early age in Bristol, England, and has persistently refused to grow up ever since.

He finally realised his dream of being a published author at the age of 45, even if he did have to take the self-publishing route in order to do it.

He is a multi-award-winning, fully-qualified, corporate communications/press/pr/marketing professional by day; in his spare time, he is an amateur author, pretend prestidigitator, jolly hockey player, fledgling farceur and doting dad.

He is married, with one son, and has not yet lived in the South West of England all his life.

Claims to fame include 'living the dream' as a Doctor Who fan by becoming involved in the filming of a low-budget, fan-made, film which starred Colin Baker, Wendy Padbury and Carole-Ann Ford; he was also once asked to act as a decoy for 80s pop star Jason Donovan to enable the star to safely escape from a sea of screaming fans following a live performance at the BBC Radio One Roadshow in Weston-Super-Mare; he is the proud owner of a Guinness World Record certificate, having organised and taken part in a charity event which set a record (now sadly beaten) for the longest single continuous game of field hockey in history.

Claims to infamy include once complaining at a civic function that the chicken nuggets were raw, only to be informed it was scampi, and being convicted of speeding in a Citroen 2CV.

PLEASE NOTE: Editions of The Big One, The Furgle And The Frimp and Dr U Who which are listed as being written by Darren M Bane are old editions now deleted from my publisher, so no new copies of these books will be printed/supplied. If you are interested in buying any of these titles, please buy the ones listed as being written by Darren Bane (without the middle 'M') as these are the correct versions to buy. (Unfortunately, with the second-hand market etc, Amazon will not allow me to delete these titles from my listing, even though my publisher, Lulu.com, has.) The older editions have some formatting issues and just a few too many typos and grammatical errors, so I revised them, together with amending the covers and changing m name on the front to be consistent with the rest of my books. Thank you. DB.
