I am a recently retired meteorologist. In my career I have provided forecasts for everything from bananas to oil rigs, I spent 5 years as a broadcaster on ITV and most recently was the Met Office Chief Government Adviser for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
My first novel, Unintended Consequences, is an attempt to show the long term impact of climate change. Help an old guy out - buy the book.
The second novel, Carillion: 10 days is the first in what I hope will be a series. Set in Glasgow it covers the ten day period leading up to a Royal visit to the city. DCI Carillion newly arrived in the city is in charge of the security for the visit, but it will not be as straight forward as it seems.
Carillion: Nowhere Man is the second in the series. Carilion is back and there’s a new member of the team. However, DI Pauline Macdonald doesn’t come without baggage. Her father, a well known corporate lawyer, has links with Glasgow’s underworld and the secretive Chinese hotel chain Bright White, but unknown to Macdonald, he is on a police watch list.
And then there’s politics, Carillion is called to give evidence to a Parliamentary Committee whose remit is to oversee the operations of Police Scotland. The outcome of the meeting could have profound implications throughout the country.
Enjoy.
