Buddy Wilkes

Fortunately for Buddy Wilkes, the cops in rural Fairfield County, South Carolina had a sense of humor during his formative years. Back in the day, officers were more inclined to deal with minor transgressions with a good talking-to.

After graduating from The Citadel in 1981, Buddy got his chance to work with some of the same officers who had cut him slack, and to learn something of the country art of police work.

Buddy went on to complete a 30 year career, retiring in 2014 as a Captain with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. He spends his time hanging out with family and friends, kayaking, and writing.
