David Wren

David Wren, sixty-three years old, has ridden some kind of motorcycle since the mid-sixties. After retiring in 2004 and encouraged by his wife, he decided to write a book, based on some of his biking experiences, those of his brother bikers, and just some good stories thrown in for good measure. "Ashes of the Phoenix" is his first work, and he admits he was surprised when it turned out to be 400+ pages long. "Once I got started writing, it just kept flowing out," Wren says. "In fact, if I hadn't limited myself, it would have been even longer!"

Wren's work experiences contribute greatly to his stories, utilizing characters and events that have actually happened. He has worked as a certified brick mason, a security guard, door-to-door salesman and certified Vocational Masonry instructor. His fellow workers and students, along with the myriad of acquaintances made through the years have provided him with a vast array of materials for writing. "I've heard one writes best about what he knows, and you don't live such a variety of life such as I have without picking up a few things to write about along the way," Wren says.

Wren's first book was released in October of 2014, a second manuscript has been submitted and he has several chapters completed on his third fictional work.
