Jan Dodgeon has spent her working life in medical imaging, with a specialism in diagnostic ultrasound. Based in the UK, after qualifying as a Radiographer at Durham she worked in several Manchester teaching hospitals, eventually taking up a post as Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford, where she was the programme leader for the MSc in Advanced Medical Imaging (Radiology / Ultrasound) as well as lead for the Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening national education programme.
Jan’s research has resulted in over 60 publications and invited presentations, two research prizes and two merit awards. She has acted as an expert adviser, course accreditor and external examiner across the UK, and has helped set up courses and taught in Pakistan, Estonia and Norway, holding a position as Associate Professor at Oslo Metropolitan University, as well as working to establish common European standards in education and practice within the radiographic profession.
